Microsoft roll forward to a new baseline, and so do I. Interestingly, there are some config changes this time.
Packages are available from the usual repo, here:
linux-headers-5.10.60.1-20211013-1-microsoft-custom-wsl2+
linux-image-5.10.60.1-20211013-1-microsoft-custom-wsl2+
linux-libc-dev
Now, as for configuration changes, a careful examination of changes to the Microsoft .config will reveal that we get the following included in the kernel:
CONFIG_BRIDGE_IGMP_SNOOPING
CONFIG_DM_CRYPT
CONFIG_HID
CONFIG_HID_GENERIC
CONFIG_USB_HID
CONFIG_USB
CONFIG_USB_ACM
CONFIG_USBIP_CORE
CONFIG_USBIP_VHCI_HCD
CONFIG_USB_SERIAL
CONFIG_USB_SERIAL_FTDI_SIO
CONFIG_DEBUG_LIST
So, that’s some interesting fuel for wild speculation for those of interested in USB device support in WSL 2 (at least for serial devices), with USBIP now making it to the standard kernel, not to mention some with regard to the potential purposes of IGMP snooping and transparent block device encryption. Enjoy yourself in the comments!
Full .config file for this build can be seen here.
